Spotted: Revlon Edgy Elegance collection

Before I get into this new collection, I want to let you know that the lovely Yuliya has close-up pics on her blog of all the products in the new Revlon Expressionists collection

If you're interested in any of the polishes in the Expressionists collection (like the Bad Romance dupe), I've got a great tip! Thanks to so many of you for this one: the polishes in this collection are in the core collection display at Target (they're not LE colors, apparently, so they're in with the regular shades) and they're currently on sale for $3.74. BUT, there's also a $1 Revlon coupon on the Target website right now, so print that out and you'll get one for $2.74!

Now, on to the OTHER new collection from Revlon:

image credit: Kristine for Nouveau Cheap

My lovely reader and fellow blogger Kristine, of Fairy Tale Charm, was kind enough to share this pic of the collection, which she spotted at her local Rite Aid. She also has great close-ups of all of the shades, which you can see here.

Amy from Gotham Polish emailed me when I was working on this very post to let me know she spotted Edgy Elegance at her local Bed Bath and Beyond, and my reader Jeanlandean left a comment a few days ago saying she spotted this display at her Rite Aid too, so be on the lookout!

Thanks so much to Yuliya, Kristine, Amy, Jeanlandean and everyone who took the time to share the info about the Target deal. I really, really appreciate it!

Have you spotted the Expressionists or Edgy Elegance displays in your area yet?

Review: Maybelline SuperStay 24 Color in So Sienna

I can probably count the number of truly negative reviews I have posted on this blog on one hand. The reason I rarely post negative reviews is because, given the amount of products I purchase, receive and test in a given month, I MUCH prefer to spend my time sharing with you the best of the best--the products I personally love and am very excited about.

The most recent negative review that comes to mind is the one I wrote for this product, and even then, I heard from readers who said, "Hey, wait a minute, I LOVE that product". So even when I'm writing a negative review, I still try to keep in mind readers who might benefit from at least a certain attribute of the product.

But every once in a while, a product comes around that I honestly can't find a positive attribute or quality to write about, no matter how hard I try.

Details about the new Revlon Expressionists collection

Last night I posted about a new Revlon dupe of Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance that I spotted over on L's blog here. And then this morning, the lovely Yuliya was kind enough to share with me a bit more about this new collection, including a photo!

Revlon Expressionists Collection

Yuliya also shared with me a great article about Gucci Westman's inspiration for this collection, which you can read here.

The Expressionists Collection will be available in October 2011 at drug and mass retailers nationwide, and on Revlon.com. The full collection includes:

Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick in four new shades: Buffest Beige, Prime Pink, Ultimate Orchid, and Vigorous Violet ($10.99 each); Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in in three new shades: Sky Line Pink, Abstract Orange, and Violet Frenzy ($7.99 each); Revlon Luxurious Color Diamond Lust Eye Shadow in five new shades: Celestial Silver, Plum Galaxy, Starry Pink, Neptune Star, and Night Sky ($4.99 each); Revlon LIMITED EDITION Bordeaux in the Snow Lip Gloss Palette ($6.99); Revlon Nail Enamel in four new shades: Starry Pink, Smoky Canvas, Blue Mosaic, and Facets of Fuchsia ($4.79 each).

So if you want that Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance dupe, look for this display at your local drugstores and keep your eyes peeled for Facets of Fuchsia before it sells out (which I'm sure it will).

Thanks so much, Yuliya, for the great pic and article link!

Great deal on Wet n Wild FastDry Polish 2-packs

Remember back in July when I posted about the Wet n Wild Perfect Couple polish promotion? If you missed that post, Wet n Wild put together 2-packs of FastDry polishes (one core collection shade and one clear top coat) for just $1.99 total.

Here's a pic from my original post, for reference:

Why am I telling you this? Well thanks to so many of you for the heads-up that if your Walgreens still has these Perfect Couple two-packs, they're ringing up for just $0.99 now!

Why?

Because all regularly-priced $1.99 items are on sale for $0.99 for the entire month at Walgreens (please click here for all the details on the $0.99 Walgreens promotion if you missed my original post).

What a GREAT deal--two FastDry polishes for just $0.99!

A huge thanks to everyone who took the time to let me know about this--I really appreciate it!

A HUGE thanks to my pal Lisa over at Drugstore Divas for this one:

But thanks to Lisa, this deal becomes a fun little MONEY-MAKER, because there's a new $0.30 off Carmex printable coupon. So you'll pay just $1.20 for your lip balm and get $1.50 back in Register Rewards. Yay!

And here's ANOTHER great Carmex deal for NEXT week (again, thanks to Lisa!):

According to Milani, the MEWOW Look at My Nails collection is only available as limited edition in select Walgreens stores this month (but you can also purchase it on the Milani website). The entire collection retails for $4.99 each.

This collection contains the LE Krackle Top Coat (black) and six shades of LE High Speed Fast Dry Nail Lacquers.

Four of the High Speed Fast Dry Nail Lacquers are new shades:

The other two shades in this display were previously part of the Summer 2011 LE Collection:

Purple Rush
(click here to see my swatches)
Racy Green

A few readers have told me that they've already spotted this display at their local drugstores, so be on the lookout for it. Also, if you plan to purchase Speed Up Pink, it is currently sold out on the Milani website so definitely be on the lookout for it at your drugstores!

Nouveau Cheap readers have spoken: your favorite drugstore concealer brand is...

It's that time again! After 1,086 votes, the latest reader poll has ended and the results are in:

First place:
Maybelline (278 votes)

Second place:
Hard Candy (148 votes)

Third place:
Revlon (137 votes)

No other brands cracked 100+ votes, but CoverGirl came close at 77 votes

If you voted for Maybelline (my personal choice for their SuperStay concealer), I'd love to know which particular product is your favorite.

I'm assuming that if you voted for Hard Candy, you probably are a fan of this concealer, but if you voted for Hard Candy and prefer another one of their concealers, I'd love to hear about that too!

And of course if you voted for Revlon, or any other brand in this poll for that matter, let us know which product you love! Oh, and if you  voted "other" I'd really love to know which drugstore brand you would have voted for if it had been an option.

Thanks SO much to everyone who took the time to vote in this poll. I love seeing the results each month and hearing what YOU have to say. It helps influence my purchases and always turns me on to great new products I've never tried before!

If you have a minute, the new poll is up and I'd love it if you'd take a sec to vote. This month we're tackling eyeliner, and since I know it is impossible for many of us to pin down ONE favorite brand, I set it so that you can select multiple answers. Thanks in advance for voting!

Fun nail posts

One of the best things about Blogger is that, whenever I sign into my dashboard, I'm able catch glimpses of new posts of all the blogs I following. If it weren't for this feature, I know I'd miss out on some fantastic content, because I just don't have the time to read every post on every blog I follow (oh how I wish I could!).

So today I want to share three posts from bloggers I follow, that really caught my attention:

Do you have any of those old Sally Hansen Chrome polishes lying around? Here's a fantastic way to use them.

Special Red Plum offer and more printable coupons!

I'm not sure if today is the last day to sign up for this, so I recommend doing it ASAP if you're interested:

In honor of National Coupon Month, which is the month of September, Red Plum is going to send subscribers ONE COUPON DEAL EVERY DAY for the entire month! It sounds like this deal is going to be in addition to the regular coupons already on their site, and you'll only have access to these coupons if you sign up here. Again, today might be the last day to register since the emails will begin tomorrow (Sept. 1st) so hurry if you're interested. I have no way of knowing what type of coupons they'll send, but let's hope some beauty coupons are in the mix!

Here are some new printable couopons:

And just a reminder: since today's the last day of the month, it's your last chance to print many of the coupons on the various coupon sites like redplum.com, coupons.com, smartsource.com and allyou.com. On the first of the month, many of these coupons will disappear and new coupons will be in their place (although some coupons that remain from August may reset, meaning you'll be able to print them again, even if you've already printed them once before). So get those printers ready and print while you can!

Sneak Peek: Maybelline Baby Lips Repairing Lip Balm Collection

Today on Elle.com's The Big Reveal, one of the new products revealed was a line of tinted lip balms from Maybelline called Baby Lips. If you're in Australia, I'm sure you're already quite familiar with this collection as it launched there first (do a search on YouTube and you'll see lots of reviews).

Here's the scoop from Elle.com:

Wish your pucker was baby soft? Enter Maybelline’s new Baby Lips Repairing Lip Balm. Hitting store shelves in October, the formula comes in four tinted shades and two clear ones (including Quenched, shown here), each with its own unique flavor (cherry, fruit punch, grape, peach, peppermint, and lemon basil). It has soothing botanical concentrate and SPF 20, so fine lines and discoloration are smoothed away.

Comparing the flavors available in Australia (orange, cherry, menthol and berry), I'm excited to see that we're getting six flavors and they're different than the Australian versions. I'm SO excited about lemon basil--that sounds wonderful to me.

Raise your hand if you're excited to see these in October!

Review: Milani Liquif'Eye Automatic Propel Eyeliners

I feel like I'm constantly repeating myself here, but in case you aren't aware, automatic liners are my very favorite type of eyeliner. I love the long-wear formulas found in most auto liners, and the convience of using an automatic eyeliner can't be beat. You never have to sharpen them and you don't need an additional brush for application. That's MY type of beauty product!

So when everyone's favorite Milani Liquif'Eye liners introduced an automatic version a while back, I was pretty much jumping for joy. Milani sent them to me to try out, and I'd love to give you a better look at them and share my thoughts with you:

Spotted: the new Physicians Formula Skin Care collection

Back in May, I told you about a new Walmart-exclusive skincare care set to debut from Physicians Formula. Well the time is here, and the collection has landed! My pal Jess spotted it at her local Walmart the other day and was nice enough to share pics!

From my original post:

In August, Physicians Formula will launch a new skin care line exclusively in Walmart. The range, dubbed Physicians Formula Skin Care, will be carried in 2,500 Walmart doors through year-end.

The line includes three regimens focused on the common skin concerns, namely Aging (purple), Moisture Balance (blue) and Sensitivity & Redness (red). Each regimen includes three steps: cleanse, moisturize and treat.

Butter London promo

A huge thanks to my reader Karyn for this one:

Now through Wednesday, enter code ROYALAUTUMN at checkout and receive a FREE bottle of Royal Navy lacquer with ANY purchase at ButterLONDON.com.

Here's how this breaks down:

Butter London polishes retail for $14 each. Shipping on their site is a little high to the US ($7.33). But since you're getting two polishes, this is still a money-saving purchase because instead of paying $35.33 ($14 x 2 plus $7.33 shipping), you'll pay $21.33 total for two polishes and shipping. And since these polishes retail for $14 at Ulta as well, you're still saving money because if you bought them in-store, you'd be paying $28 for two polishes!

Thanks so much, Karyn, for the scoop!

I honestly didn't set out to purchase this product when I was at my local beauty supply a few weeks ago, but something about it called out to me.
